What We Do
What we do
Therapeutic Equine Assisted Support for children and young people
We provide equine assisted therapy and equine assisted learning for children and young people who benefit from relational, trauma informed therapeutic support.
Our work integrates professional counselling practice with structured, ground based interaction with horses. Session are delivered by a qualified counsellor and are under pinned by ethical practice, safeguarding procedures and clinical supervision.
We support emotional wellbeing, regulation, confidence and engagement particularly for children who find traditional or talking based settings challenging.
Our Approach
Our approach is:
Child centered - each childs needs, pace and capacity guide the work
Trauma informed - emotional safety, choice and predictability are prioritised
Relationship based - Trust and connection are central to change
Therapeutic and purposeful - Sessions are delivered with clear therapeutic intent
Horses are central to this work because of their sensitivity to non-verbal communication and emotional states. Through supported interaction, children are able to develop awareness of their emotions, behavior's and boundaries in a way that feel safe and non judgmental.

How This Differs From General Farm or Outdoor Provision
While outdoor and animal-based activities can be valuable for wellbeing, our work is not recreational or activity-based.
Our provision is distinct because it is:
Therapeutic in intent, not leisure-focused
Counsellor-led, underpinned by professional training and ethical standards
Structured and outcome-focused, with clear therapeutic aims
Safeguarding-led, with risk assessments and clear boundaries
Ground-based, prioritising emotional and physical safety
This ensures that children receive consistent, purposeful therapeutic support rather than informal animal interaction.
“Horses are completely honest with no hidden agenda or hidden fears, they want to be in balance always.”

Improved emotional regulation
Increased confidence and self-esteem
Greater self-awareness
Improved communication and boundaries
Increased readiness to engage with learning and daily life
