Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning for Children and Young People
Equine assisted therapy (EAT) and Equine assisted learning (EAL) supporting emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
Our Sessions are suitable for:
School and local authority referrals across Warwickshire
Families seeking therapeutic support for their child
Sessions are facilitated by a qualified counsellor, integrating professional therapeutic skills with equine assisted practice in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
We offer calm, ground-based sessions with horses, designed to support children and young people who benefit from relational, trauma informed approaches and who may find traditional or talking based settings challenging.
Safeguarding, emotional safety, and ethical practice are central to everything we do.
Who our work is for:
Our work supports children and young people who may be experiencing emotional, behavioral or engagement related difficulties, including:
Children with SEND or SEMH needs
Neurodivergent children
Children experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation or low self esteem
Children effected by trauma or adverse experiences
Children who struggle in the traditional classroom or talking based settings
Children who benefit from experiential, relational and nature based therapeutic support
We work primarily and secondary aged children and tailor sessions to each individual’s needs, pace and capacity.
What makes our work Different
Our provision is therapeutic, not recreational. Sessions are not farm activities, riding lessons or holiday experiences.
Key features:
Counsellor led practice
Therapeutic intent
Ground based equine assisted work
Trauma informed approach
Safeguarding led provision
This structure allows children to engage safely and meaningfully while building trust, confidence and resilience.
Trauma-informed and Accessible support:
We recognise that many children who would benefit from equine assisted therapy have experienced trauma, adversity or significant life challenges.
Alongside our provision we are committed to widening access to therapeutic support. Subject to funding, we aim to offer fully or partially funded places for children and families who may be unable to afford private sessions.
Funded places focus on:
Therapeutic, trauma informed counselling support
Emotional regulation and safety
Building confidence, trust and resilience
Funded sessions are offered in line with professional standards and ethical practice and are intended to complement not replace statutory or clinical services.
Availability is dependent on grant funding and eligibility criteria.
Who we work with
We work collaboratively with:

Local authorities and professional services
Where appropriate we support shared goals and outcome, working alongside existing services to meet each child’s needs.
